Camp!

I left for our camp on Saturday, with my Mom Dad and Brother, after coming home from our Grandmas and Grandpas. We set out around 4ish for the 2-hour drive. We stopped at my Baba and Nonnos garden for some vegetables! The car ride there was warm. I mostly listened to a podcast, but sometimes I looked out the window and observed the rivers and lakes they were everywhere! When we arrived at the dirt road which meant our camp was not far! We all rolled down our windows and looked if we could see any blueberries.  There were not as many as last year, so we kept driving down the long dirt road, passing a large sandpit in which I usually ride the quad in with my Dad! We finally reached a faded wood sign saying encamp(left) savoy (right).  Our camp was on encamp so we turned left and two seconds later I saw the first camp and a sliver of a calm lake behind it. Turning right was a long line of camps all buried in trees. We kept driving until we saw are camp right after a Moose crossing sign. We turned down our steep driveway and slowly I could see the camp! That day we mostly unpacked. My Dad took my Brother on the quad to put the minows in. My Brother and I also played a few games of chess and checkers, and I won every game!

The next day we went blueberry picking, and there were way more than we had thought. After about an hour we each got a big bowl full! Mine had a bit less because I ate a lot. On the way there we saw a whole family of Ruffed Grouse. There were about 8! Then Dad and I went to get the minows. On the ride there we both kept an eye out for mushrooms, lobster mushrooms, and chanterelles. We found a lot of lobsters but we did not so good with chanterelles. After picking up the minows from a calm little pond we came back to camp. When we were home we noticed some big white blobs at the far end of the lake. They were swans! Wild swans!
The next day was the last full day.  We did some more blueberry picking and got another bucket full.  It was drizzling the whole time. We then decided to go fishing, because the rain was slowing down. After about one minute in the boat, I got a bass! It was a little small but we kept it in hopes for more, then after about then minutes me and Mom got over 10 fish! But they were all pikes and really small, I got one that was only 3 inches, And my Mom got a pike with a big bit in it, and then 5 minutes later she got it again! We ended up putting the bass back because we didn't get any other ones. When we got back we went for a walk and got a couple more lobsters then on the way back it started to rain, and we all got drenched!
The next day (our last) I woke up to rain.  I got up and looked out the window and it had clearly rained hard in the night. We all made breakfast together.  We made an egg potato tortilla and bacon, soooo good! It was really cold, and my sweater was still wet from the walk yesterday. The weather stick we have outside was pointed straight down! When its good weather it's up and bad it points down. After we were all packed up we all ran into the car and set out. Then we turned around to make sure the door was locked then we set out, and as we turned the corner to the encamp sign a tree had fallen across the road! So we drove back to get the chain saw, and dad cut it up in the pouring rain! Then we actually left and that trip to camp was done!
